About Course

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering started after the inception of NCET in the year 2001. The department offers an undergraduate program that focuses on enhancing technical and generic competencies as well as the skills required by the graduates to face the challenges of technological advancements and be agile learners. 

The UG students are encouraged to take up competitive exams to pursue studies and to do research in the area of Electronics and Communication Engineering. To enhance their soft skills, students are provided with special training from year 3 onwards, which increases the chances of placements in reputed companies like Continental Automotive, Mahindra Electric, TECH Mahindra, HP, Infosys, TCS, IBM, Mindtree, and DXC Technologies, Cognizant are few to name. 

  • The department has an MOU with Texas Instruments & National Instruments to support students with the latest industrial technologies and equipment. 
  • The department has a permanent affiliation with VTU & is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). 
  • The department is recognized as a research center with a research grant from VTU to conduct research in cutting-edge technologies.

I welcome you all to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at NCET. Over the last twenty years the department has grown its expertise and competencies in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The department has a strong academicians comprising of 30 faculties and 10 technical supporting staff. At bachelor level the department offers B.E in Electronics & communication Engineering. The pedagogy focuses on student- centric which emphasis on problem solving and collaborative learning. Department offers wide range of elective courses to the students to pursue their interest. The departments focus not only on creating professional competencies among our graduates but also a holistic approach to their development who could contribute to the success of the society. The graduates of this department have contributed to the development over the last 18 years at national and international level. Department has well equipped laboratories and excellent computational facilities. State of art hardware and software labs with relevant tools such as CADENCE, MATLAB 2018a, Simulink, Kiel Microvision, Xilinx, etc. are available to work on top-of-the line projects in various areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Department has an Advanced Computing Laboratory to carry out research in the area of cutting edge technologies. To be in line with current industry requirements and latest developments in the area of specialization Guest Lectures from industry experts arranged regularly. 

Industrial Tours, Technical Workshops, Soft Skill training programs are arranged for the development of leadership and professional skills. Students are encouraged to pursue higher education like ME/MTech and MS. Through campus interviews preparations, all eligible students are supported for placements in various industries. PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

  • PEO-1: Graduates of Electronics and Communication engineering will be using the basic academic knowledge of design and analysis required in the industry for sustainable societal growth.
  • PEO-2: Graduates of Electronics and Communication engineering will be able to design project based learning and team based learning
  • PEO-3: Graduates in Electronics and Communication engineering will demonstrate good communication skills, dynamic leadership qualities with concern for environmental protection
  • PEO-4:  Electronics and Communication engineering graduates will be capable of pursuing higher studies, take up research and development work blended with ethics and human values.
  • PEO-5: Electronics and Communication engineering graduates will have the ability to get employed and become entrepreneurs thereby switching over from responsive engineering to creative engineering.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

  • PO-1: Engineering Knowledge – Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and electronics communication principles to the solution of complex problems in Data Science & Engineering.
  • PO-2:  Problem Analysis – Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex electronics communication and engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics and engineering sciences.
  • PO-3: Design/Development of Solutions – Design solutions for complex Electronics Communication and Engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO-4: Conduct Investigations of Complex problems – Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions related to Electronics Communication and Engineering problems.
  • PO-5: Modern Tool Usage – Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex Electronics Communication and Engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
