Vision:
- To create innovative, ethical and successful entrepreneurs with leadership qualities, contributing towards growth and development of the society and the nation.
Mission:
- To instill the passion and spirit among students to pursue entrepreneurship
Objectives:
- To impart entrepreneurial education amongst students and create entrepreneurial culture.
- To develop entrepreneurial skills and competencies among the students
- To provide a platform for student to interact with the entrepreneurs
- To foster linkages between institutions, industry, R&D institutions and other related organizations in promoting entrepreneurship.
- To provide a special focus for the Women to become entrepreneurs.
- To incubate technical projects/start-ups.
- To provide guidance and assistance to students to be successful entrepreneurs.
Proposed Activities of EDC:
- Organize entrepreneurship awareness camps, entrepreneurship development programs and faculty development programs.
- Develop and introduce a curriculum on Entrepreneurship Development at various levels for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Conduct research work and survey for identifying entrepreneurial opportunities
- Guide and assist the students on developing a Business plan by organizing competitions on Business Plan, Product launch, Product Development and so on.
- Guide and assist prospective entrepreneurs on various aspects such as preparing project reports, obtaining project approvals, loans and facilities from agencies of support systems, intellectual property rights, information on technologies, etc.
- Organize guest lectures, webinars, seminars, workshops etc. for promotion and growth of entrepreneurship.
- Arrange visits to industries for prospective entrepreneurs.
- Provide entrepreneurship mentoring and extend necessary guidance and services to the prospective entrepreneurs.
- Provide necessary incubation facilities for entrepreneurs.
About MHRD
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established 'MHRD's Innovation Cell (MIC)' to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years. MIC has envisioned encouraging creation of 'Institution's Innovation Council (IICs)' across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses.
Major focus of IIC
- To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem
- Start-up supporting Mechanism in HEIs
- Prepare institute for Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements Framework
- Establish Function Ecosystem for Scouting Ideas and Pre-incubation of Ideas.
- Develop better Cognitive Ability for Technology Students Functions of IICs.
- To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bound fashion.
- Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
- Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
- Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
- Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students.
- Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges etc. with the involvement of industries.
Role of NCET’s – IIC and its linkage with other departments in the college and with industries.
