Computer Science and Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has highly qualified and motivated faculties who are in positioned to create the technological leaders of tomorrow. Our goal is to ensure that our students highly motivated and understand the dynamics of the industry and upgrade their knowledge accordingly. The students of CSE are well prepared to play the roles of problem solvers, project leaders, entrepreneurs, and above all ethical citizens of a global society. Our objective is to empower our students with latest technical knowledge and skills to meet global challenges. Department not only give emphasis on study also motivate students to do research and innovation. We encourage the students to develop leadership and teamwork approach through innovative teaching-learning process. Institute provides a platform for the students to enhance their employability skills through Industry Institute Collaboration.

COURSE

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is one of the five departments at Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology. It administers bachelor's programs in Computer Science and Engineering, as well as master's and doctoral degree programs in Computer Science and Engineering.

About twenty full-time faculty members provide a comprehensive program that emphasizes problem solving skills in C programming, Web designing aspects, data structure and application level thinking through EBox Portal. Pattern recognition, data mining and machine learning, distributed systems and android application, operating systems and computer networks, computer security, and IOT computing.

The CSE department's many strengths include its high faculty-to-student ratio, state of the art facilities, renowned faculty, strong focus on undergraduate education balanced with leading-edge research, and emphasis on leadership, service, and ethics.

Faculty and students often collaborate on projects, In addition to the excellent faculty and quality research opportunities available through the department, there is a real sense of community and teamwork here.

The CSE department also offers three optional Concentrations for undergraduate majors: Music, Dance, and Photography. These concentrations provide students interested in those topic areas with a recommended sequence of elective courses. Completion of one of the Concentrations is recorded on the student's official transcript at graduation.

Graduates from the CSE department are heavily recruited by many top companies. Graduates take up careers in the computing industry, the finance industry, traditional large engineering companies, startup companies, management consulting companies, medical informatics companies, and government. Some of our top undergraduates each year enter the PhD program in Computer Science and Engineering at leading universities around the country.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering department also offers PhD Doctoral Degree with many aspirants reaching heights in field of Research in various fields and also enriching their personal growth by Publishing National and International papers, National and International Journals and Research Patenting due to an excellent support from PhD Doctorate Guides.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

PO-1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and Computer Science and Engineering principles to the solution of complex problems in Computer Science and Engineering.
PO-2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex Computer Science and Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics and engineering sciences.
PO-3: Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex Computer Science and Engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO-4: Conduct Investigations of Complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions related to Computer Science and Engineering problems.
PO-5: Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex Computer Science and Engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO-6: The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional Computer Science and Engineering practice.

PSO-1:Professional Skills: The ability to understand, analyze and develop computer programs in the areas related to system software, multimedia, web design, big data analytics, and networking for efficient design of computer-based systems of varying complexity.
PSO-2: Problem - Solving Skills: The ability to apply standard practices and strategies in software project development using open-ended programming environments to deliver a quality product for business success.
PSO-3: Mathematical concepts: Ability to apply mathematical concepts to solve real world problems using appropriate data structure and suitable algorithms.

The institution has always kept its target of providing Student-to-computer ratio of 1:1 during their laboratory exercises
The Department is well equipped with the latest computers with modern multimedia features and Licensed software. Computer Labs have been loaded with Microsoft Windows 10 and Ubuntu Operating System. All the labs are connected with 100MBPS high-speed internet service. The lab is used to train the students to improve their programming knowledge and make experiments to get familiar with the Core Courses. This lab helps placement cell to conduct online test and Placement training for students during placement drive.
